Halloween 2010

We had a fun Halloween this year. Both of the boys were very into trick or treating. It took Chase a few houses but then he got the hang of it. I had to keep reminding him to only take 1 piece. He kept taking one putting it in his bucket and then going back for more. It was funny to watch the boys try to juggle their buckets, flashlights and getting candy. After a while Daddy had the flashlights!! Bryce was the cars pit crew guy and Chase was a monkey. The both picked their own costumes this year!! When we got back Bryce wanted to organize and count his candy. He put them into piles. Chase wanted to try to do the same. He lined all his candy up, started to count it and then said I'm done. I want candy. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Pumpkin Carving

Friday night we spent the evening carving our pumpkins. We had a great time. Bryce, just like me enjoyed sticking his hand into the pumpkin and ripping out the "guts." Chase on the other hand is much like Eric. Neither of them will touch it. Chase's best line of the night was, "Grossy, gross gross!!!" Bryce was a champ this year. He came up with his own pumpkin face, drew it on the pumpkin with a little help and then pretty much carved it by himself. He was very proud!!! Chase worked with Daddy to carve his. He wanted a spider this year. We lit them up last night to check them out and can't wait to show them off on Halloween!!!

Bryce's Halloween Party at School

On Friday Bryce had his Halloween party and parade at school. During the day I had received 3, that's right, 3 phone calls from the school nurse saying that he was complaining of ear pain. Anyway, he ended up still having an ear infection and is on new medicine. Ok, so back to the party. We had a great time. We had 3 centers and they were pumpkin decorating, making cookies and Halloween bingo. Then we read a few books, got dressed and headed off to the parade. All the kids had a great time!!!

FUNNY STUFF

Ok, so my boys have been cracking me up lately and here are a few things that I wanted to share

First one was from Chase...He needed to poop. The gate was up in the playroom where he normally likes to go, I was in the dining room (option #2) and Bryce was in the living room. Oh and Peyton was eating in the kitchen. So Chase comes in to me and says, "Mommy, where I go a poop?" I thought that it was the funniest thing...

Second, We were in the car listening to the country station. Kenny Cheney's song When the sun goes down came on and Bryce says, "Mommy, why is it that when the sun goes down it gets hotter?" My response was, Aunt Katie taught you that song I think you should ask her!!! And that was the end of it...at least until he sees her

Third, Bryce was chewing gum and apparently was done with it. He asked me to get rid of it and I was in traffic driving and said no. Chase then says, "Bubba, I chew it for you" I just thought that was the nest because it reminded me of Katie. She always wanted gum but never chewed it for very long and I ALWAYS took it from her and chewed it...oh the memories!!

Forth, Chase had a poopy diaper this morning. I was in the middle of changing him and he says, "Mommy, I smell a cow, it is stinky." I kindly told him that the stink was him and he did not believe me.

The Patriot Award

We received a letter in the mail about a week ago from Bryce's school saying that he was getting the Patriot award this month from the gym teacher. We didn't know what it meant exactly but we were invited to the assembly to find out. Bryce was very excited. That was until his name was announced and he had to walk up on stage. Then he had to stand there until the rest of the names were called. He was hiding his face behind the award. Wait, it gets better...Then they put all the names into a bucket (about 30) and pick one child to be the principal for the day. And guess what, Bryce's name was picked. Now neither of us knew anything about this. Well, he had to walk over and they put a suit coat on him. Everyone was clapping and lets just say that he was not handling it well. He turned around to go to the back of the stage and they made him come tot he front and sit down. As he was doing this he started to curl up and I knew he was upset. So I walked around the the front on the side of the stage and asked him if I could get a picture. Well, that wasn't on his mind. His teacher made her way up there and was trying to talk to him. He was almost in tears, that's right...TEARS. Now what child would be upset to be the principal for a day. Mine of course. Anyway, he took the coat off, the principal talked to him and he was a little bit better. Then I told him he could wear his tie that day and he was fine. When he got home from school, the first thing he told me was that he was embarrassed and didn't know what to do. We talked more about it and now he is very excited. More to come when the day actually arrives!! Here are a few pics...I know the quality isn't the best but I was far away and cracking up and trying to video tape all at the same time.

Field Trip to Styer's Orchard

On Tuesday I went with Bryce's class to Styer's orchard. We had beautiful weather and we had a great day!! We learned how to pick apples and then picked enough to fill a quart bag. Then we headed over to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin. We also had a hayride, went through the haunted house (Bryce cried), had lunch and took a class picture. You will notice that Bryce was miserable in the picture because he knew first of all that I was leaving to go home and the wind picked up and he was getting cold. I know, a baby right...but he is my baby!! All in all it was a good day and I think next year our family is going to go back to check it out!!

Thr Greiner's at Bryce's soccer game

This past weekend Barry and Bev came to Bryce's soccer game. He was so glad they were able to make a game. He was asked to play up with the first graders again and he was so happy!!! He scored 2 goals which made Grandma and Grandpa happy. Chase has so much fun playing with them while Bryce played soccer. They hung out with us for the day and we had a great time!!

Soccer with the first graders

This past weekend the team was short 2 players that usually play on the first grade team. We had asked Bryce earlier in the week if he wanted to play up. At first he said no and then after a little coaxing we were able to get him to agree. The day of the game was a different story. He was once again unsure of it. Eric reminded him that he practices with them all the time and he does fine. So he said ok. When the game started he was a little hesitant but then he got more comfortable. He was able to keep up and at the end of the game he had 2 goals and wants to play there next week. We told him that only if they are short players would he be allowed to play up. I will admot that he was the smallest one out there ( not hard for him though). You can defiently tell a difference in the speed and strength a year makes though. All in all it was a good experience. Mimi and Grumum came to watch him this week and he was so excited to have both of them there!!!

Philly Zoo with the Rennix Family

Last Sunday after church we headed to the zoo with the Rennix family. We had a great time. We saw all the animals and it was trick or treaing at the zoo so we got TONS of candy and some other cool stuff. The kids and some of the adults (Beth and Brady) were enjoying most of the candy. We had a great day and we are so glad to have them as friends.

Exeter football game

On Friday night we went to the Exeter homecoming football game. Eric was able to go to the game with us which was nice. The boys were so excited to see the band again and watch Kyle. I think they yelled to him every time they saw him going past us. Unfortunately Bryce did not make it to see the band because they played after the game and he was exhausted. Chase was half awake and half asleep for the band but he was still able to sing tot he YMCA.

The trees

After many hours of ahrd work Eric and I finally finished the trees. Well at least the cutting down and taking away. We still have one more major stump and all the little stumps to take care of but we are getting there. OUr back yard looks to open (Eric says a little too open). Next year I think we are going to try and plant somehitng next to the shed and I think that will help. We now also need to clean and repaint the shed becasue of the "green stuff" on it. That will hopefully happen next spring. In the meantime enjoy looking at what we did...

Kitchen Cabinets

Last week Eric and I were actually able to finish our cabinets after about 10 months of not having cabinet doors. We tried 3 different kinds of hinges and the third ones were successful. I am soooo glad that they are done. Now if I could just get my counters cleaned off we would be all set.

Cute Chasey Story

Chase and I were sitting on the couch watching the Phillies game and he was looking at my earring. He stood next to me and said, "Mommy, tire swing. You have an oval tire swing. It goes wheeee!!" It was just too cute that I had to share.

Freddy Hill Fall Fest

On Sunday afternoon we decided to head over to Freddy Hill Farms to check out the Fall Fest. We went on a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch and picked a few pumpkins. We did not get our big carving ones just yet but we got a few smaller ones. Chase and Eric found theirs first and well, it took Bryce about 40 more minutes. He of course needed to find just the right one. We were giving him 5 more minutes and then he was done because we had looked at EVERY pumpkin in the 2 pumpkin patches. The boys had a blast running around and looking at all the different pumpkins. They both fell quite a few times over the vines but got right back up and kept running. We will definitely do this again next year!!!
